Department of Education Discretionary and Formula Grant Database Department/Agency Level The database contains information on U.S. Department of Education grant and cooperative-agreement awards for the most recent fiscal years. Five Ways to Search for Grant Awards: Pick List Search - search for grant awards by selecting (picking) from lists of actual data (up to 10 selections per list). Text Search - search for awards using a particular text string, such as zip code. Date Search - search for awards made in a date range. Abstract Search - search awards with abstracts. Summary Reports - find summary award information by state and grant program. Also find large dollar individual grants.
Public Elementary and Education School Data - National and State Snapshots Department/Agency Level ED Data Express allows you to view charts and tables with key data and download tables of key data on public elementary and secondary education for each state. [NOTE: Each state defines its own academic content, assessments, and academic achievement standards; therefore, achievement results are not comparable across states.
Public Elementary and Education School Data - State Tables Department/Agency Level ED Data Express allows you to create tables with state and national data elements for one or more states related to public elementary and secondary education. The site is designed to be interactive and to present the data in a clear, easy-to-use manner, with options to download information into Excel or manipulate the data within the Web site. The site currently includes data from EDFacts, Consolidated State Performance Reports (CSPR), State Accountability Workbooks, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP), the College Board, and the Department's Budget Service office.
Campus-Based Program Data Federal Student Aid Provides annual recipient, disbursement and federal award information for the Campus-Based Programs (Perkins Loan Program, Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant and Federal Work-Study Program) by postsecondary school.
FAFSA Application Volume Federal Student Aid These reports provide information on the number of Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSAs) processed. One report provides the number of applications by the applicant's state of legal residence and the other report provides the number of applications by postsecondary institution, as listed on the applicant's FAFSA. In both reports, numbers are reported in two categories: dependent students and independent students.
Federal Student Loan Program Data Federal Student Aid Provides recipient and disbursement information each quarter for the Direct Loan and Federal Family Education Loan Programs by postsecondary school.
Grant Program Data for Federal Student Aid Federal Student Aid Provides recipient and disbursement information each quarter for the Federal Pell, Academic Competitiveness, National SMART and Teach Grant Programs by postsecondary school.
Common Core of Data (CCD): Local Education Agency (School District) Universe Survey National Center for Education Statistics The Common Core of Data Local Education Agency (School District) Universe Survey consists of data submitted annually to NCES by state education agencies in the United States and the territories. The purpose of the survey is to provide a listing of all schools districts providing free public elementary and secondary education, along with basic descriptive statistical information on each school district listed.
Common Core of Data (CCD): Local Education Agency (School District) Finance Data National Center for Education Statistics This survey collects data on revenues and expenditures for each public, elementary and secondary education school district in the United States. Data are collected from state education agencies who collect it from the school districts and other local education agencies in the state.

The purpose of the survey is to provide information about students and staff in public elementary and secondary education.
Common Core of Data (CCD): State Dropout and Completion Data National Center for Education Statistics The primary purposes of the State Dropout and Completion Data File are to report the numbers of dropouts from each of grades 9 - 12 and the relevant event dropout rates and to report the numbers of high school diploma recipients, other high school completers, and the relevant Averaged Freshman Graduation Rate (AFGR).
Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 1998-99 (ECLS) National Center for Education Statistics The Early Childhood Longitudinal Study (ECLS), Kindergarten Class of 1998-99 followed a nationally representative sample of children who were kindergartners in 1998-99 from kindergarten through eighth grade. The base-year sample included more than 21,000 children attending more than 1,200 public and private schools. Data were collected from children, their families, their teachers, and their schools at multiple points in time (i.e., fall and spring kindergarten, fall and spring first grade, spring third grade, spring fifth grade, spring eighth grade).
National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) National Center for Education Statistics The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), also known as the Nation's Report Card, is the only nationally representative and continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas. NAEP includes data from Main NAEP, Long-term Trend NAEP, and the High School Transcript Data.
National Household Education Survey National Center for Education Statistics This household based survey provides descriptive data on the educational activities of the U.S. population and offers a variety of statistics on the condition of education in the United States. The NHES surveys cover learning at all ages, from early childhood to school age through adulthood. The NHES has been conducted since 1991 and has modules covering early childhood care, parent and family involvement in education, after school program participation, school safety, library usage, adult education, school readiness and civic involvement.
National Postsecondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS) National Center for Education Statistics A survey of student financing of postsecondary education in the United States. Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at all types of postsecondary institutions in the U.S. in 2007-08 are represented. These include public, private not-for-profit, and private for-profit sector institutions at every level: less-than-2-year, 2-year, 4-year, and graduate-only.
Postsecondary Education Quick Information System (PEQIS) National Center for Education Statistics This file contains data from a quick-response survey using the Postsecondary Education Quick Information System (PEQIS). It provides national estimates on postsecondary education topics (e.g., distance education, dual-enrollment) among 2-year and 4-year Title IV eligible, degree-granting institutions.
Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) National Center for Education Statistics This school based assessment provides descriptive data on the educational outcomes of U.S. fourth- and eighth-graders in mathematics and science as well as factors that may be related to achievement in these subject areas. In addition to the assessment, background data is collected from students, their teachers, and schools. TIMSS has been administered every four years since 1995. The United States is one of 57 countries that participated in the study in 2007.
Campus Security Data Office of Postsecondary Education This Campus Security Data analysis cutting tool was designed to provide rapid customized reports for public inquiries relating to campus crime data. The data are drawn from the OPE Campus Security Statistics website database to which crime statistics are submitted annually, via a Web-based data collection, by all postsecondary institutions that receive Title IV funding (i.e., those that participate in federal student aid programs) as required by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act.
Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act Data Office of Postsecondary Education The data are drawn from the OPE Equity in Athletics Disclosure Website database. This database consists of athletics data that are submitted annually as required by the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA), via a Web-based data collection, by all co-educational postsecondary institutions that receive Title IV funding (i.e., those that participate in federal student aid programs) and that have an intercollegiate athletics program. The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act requires co-educational institutions of postsecondary education that participate in a Title IV, federal student financial assistance program, and have an intercollegiate athletic program, to prepare an annual report to the Department of Education on athletic participation, staffing, and revenues and expenses, by men's and women's teams. The Department will use this information in preparing its required report to the Congress on gender equity in intercollegiate athletics.
Civil Rights Data Collection for Education Office for Civil Rights The Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) collects data on key education and civil rights issues in our nation's public schools for use by the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and other Department of Education offices as well as policymakers and researchers outside of the Department of Education. This data collection provides information about students in public elementary and secondary schools, including enrollment, access to educational programs or services, and academic proficiency results, "disaggregated" or broken out, by factors including race, ethnicity, sex, and disability.
Career and Technical Education Act, Carl D. Perkins - Consolidation Annual Reports Office of Vocational and Adult Education Provides enrollment and performance data under secondary and postsecondary career and technical education administered as part of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006. Commonly known as "Perkins", these programs serve as the principal source of federal funding to states for the improvement of secondary and postsecondary career and technical education programs.
Vocational Rehabilitation Programs - Core Data Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services View tables and charts with key data and download tables on basic Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) programs for each state agency. While several programs exist to assist individuals with disabilities to become employed, the primary one overseen by the Rehabilitative Services Administration of the Department of Education is the vocational rehabilitation (VR) program.

Digest of Education Statistics: 2009 National Center for Education Statistics This annual report, consisting of over 400 downloadable dataset tables, provides a compilation of statistical information covering the broad field of education from prekindergarten through graduate school. Topics in the Digest include: the number of schools and colleges; teachers; enrollments; graduates; educational attainment; finances; federal funds for education; employment and income of graduates; libraries; technology; and international comparisons.
